What does “Real” in Real Sourdough Bakery mean?

“Real” means we never use shortcuts like commercial yeast. Our breads are made with our own natural starter and go through a slow fermentation process, giving them authentic flavor, better texture, and easier digestibility.

Do you have a storefront?

We’re a home-based micro-bakery. Most items are baked on order, but we do bake our classic bread daily for instant pickup. Soon, we’ll expand to bake more items daily and open a small storefront. Every loaf is baked by hand in small batches with fresh, quality ingredients. Unlike commercial setups, we focus on care and craft, which gives our bread its rich flavor and addictive texture.

Are you licensed?

Yes. We’re proudly licensed and have a DineSafe green sign issued by the City of Pickering. This means we meet all food safety requirements, so you can enjoy our bread with confidence.

Do I need to order in advance?

Mostly yes. Since sourdough takes time, most items are baked to order and need 24+ hours. Our classic loaf is the only exception — we bake it fresh daily in small batches. For that, we recommend calling ahead to reserve for same-day pickup.

Why do orders take 24 hours?

Sourdough is made with wild yeast that needs time to work its magic. The slow rise builds natural gluten, deep flavor, and the perfect balance of a crispy crust with a soft, moist crumb.

Do you deliver?

Yes. You can choose store pickup or delivery. Delivery is free within 12 km, and just $2.75 for 12–25 km. We currently deliver in Pickering, Ajax, Markham, and Scarborough, so you can enjoy fresh sourdough at your doorstep.

What is your delivery schedule?

On weekdays, we deliver between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm. On weekends, deliveries are made from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
